Many outpatient therapy facilities only treat the physical, WE TREAT THE ENTIRE PERSON
Physical therapy will get you moving like you were before, maybe even better.
The basis of physical therapy is physical exercise, but we want you to be comfortable. We will never push you beyond your own personal comfort zone.
Physical therapy is for more than just the muscles. When you are moving and exercising, you are taking steps to prevent other illnesses and taking on what may be ailing you currently.
In addition to physical therapy getting you back to physically performing tasks that are important to you, occupational therapy will get you back to doing what you WANT to do.
Our Occupational Therapists are trained to identify specific portions of your day-to-day life that are particularly challenging and make them easier with you.
Speech therapy (or Speech pathology) is aimed at improving the speech function and eating/swallowing function. Frequently speech therapy is used in the setting of pediatrics, but adults may require speech therapy services after a prolonged hospitalization.
Speech therapists are able to develop an individualized program for each client to improve swallowing and eating mechanics. You may have some speech therapy provided at the hospital if that was necessary, but continuing that therapy is just as important.
